Welcome to Z Connections - Refresh, Renew, Refocus!

Something changes in those first few weeks of July. There is a line drawn in the sand as the start of a new financial year brings eagerness for opportunity. The office takes a collective breath and is primed for a refreshed, refocused and renewed direction. Are you taking advantage of this special time? Have you given your communications and marketing plan the attention it needs right now? We've taken the pain out of strategic communication planning with our new product COMM*BAT(see Julia's article).

Thank you to the organisers of the biggest shows in the Meetings and Events Industry - RSVP Sydney and Australian Business Events Expo. They provided a great platform to meet colleagues (and creatures!) and share ideas.

With indicators suggesting the new financial year will be much better than the last, we look forward to great things for all. Contact us to start working on making the most of it!

Til next time,

Felicity

Start Communications Planning to Save Money and Maximise your Impact

A Communications Plan is the river running through your company. It is a source of fresh food and water that supports and directs the growth of your business. It can be boiled down to three elements:
* How you are going to achieve your business goals
* How you are going to communicate with your customers and potential customers
* What you are going to tell them

If you have a vision for the future of your company, the culture and the products and services you sell, then creating a Communications Plan is the first step to making that happen.

What will a Communications Plan do for your business?

1. If you want to develop and grow your business, a Communications Plan is a must. Most businesses need more and/or better clients. A Communications Plan will deliver you the strategies and actions to find clients, educate them on what you do and entice them to your business.

Our MD, Felicity Zadro, presented a seminar at ABEE on 'Business Communication in a Downturn: Why smart marketing is crucial' which received great praise from those who attended.

For those who missed out, here's a sneak preview:

Tips for Communicating in a Downturn

  • Communications Strategy - Review, Refresh, Refocus
Review, Refresh and Refocus your communications strategy and realign it with your business goals. Now is the time to have a strategic planning or review day.
  • Cut the Right Costs and Stay Visible
If you do have to cut costs, make sure that you cut the right ones. Studies consistently show that companies which continue or boost their PR activity during economic downturns, outperform competitors that cut their budgets.
  • Visibility
The most important thing is to stay highly visible to clients - a risk for those who are afraid to or don't value business communication. Even saying you don't know what your next step is, is better than slowly fading away from the limelight.
  • Use Content Marketing - share what you know and become an expert
If you are good at what you do, and you want your prospects and customers to be successful, position yourself as the expert by sharing your knowledge. The key to success is to give your ideas and information freely, without any strings attached.
